How is the feeling of going to another Hawaiian surf season?

It is very different from going to any other place in the world. In Hawaii you know the ocean can be huge suddenly. Sometimes you wake up in the middle of the night, listen the sound of the waves and just can’t go back to sleep. The adrenaline is always high...

How many times have you been there and how long are you planning to stay there?

This is my seventh time in hawaii and I must stay there for about 3 months making some promotional material for my sponsors. Then, I come back to Brazil.

How many boards are you taking with you? Which models?

I am taking 11 boards from 5’11” to 7’3”. Some of the small ones I was already using here, they are all Sino Model 4:20 with 18” x 2”1/8” with squash tail. The intermediate boards are thicker with round pin tail, perfect to surf Back Door and Off the wall. The bigger ones are the Gun Model to surf spots like Sunset.

What would you say for who wants to go to Hawaii?

The most important is to be well equipped, with the right boards, get there respecting the ocean, the people and be prepared to get big waves...
